My name is Nadia Ischia

I was born and I grew up in Trentino, on the shores of Lake Garda, a wonderful place where I enjoy spending my summers.

My second home has been Bologna where I took my degree in Pedagogy and where I attended a course in publishing for children’s book at Accademia Drosselmeier.

My interest for art and children’s books led me learn etching, pictorial restoration, and illustrations for books (course by Octavia Monaco, Bologna in 2014; Accademia Pictor, Torino in 2017).

Since 2011 i have been realizing sand performances, videos, workshops using what is called sand animation or sand art.

Sand animation is a very complex art tecnique. Most of us are self-taught animators. This is the reason why sand animation is strictly connected to each animator’s personality, soul and imagination.

I started being a sand animator in 2011. Since then I have started my “research” in this filed and throughout the years I have been experimenting different types of surfaces, sands and effects.

With this technique, i realize customised performances, videos, workshops and shows for children and adults.
